GNPEC Hybrid-Online Delivery Guidelines
Fully online programs are discouraged in general and not eligible for authorization in many cases, including allied health programming.
To understand industry standards, schools should refer to existing programming in the technical college system and other accredited programs.
NPEC expectations are that a school will have a fully developed Learning Management System (LMS) for hybrid-online delivery. The institution will:
- Train students on how to use the LMS.
- Provide access to student support services.
- Provide consistently reliable and timely technical support.
- Use assessments to evaluate learning outcomes.
- Provide regular, comprehensive, and quality feedback from faculty.
- Maintain clear guidelines for attendance and records it.
- Ensure students are aware logging in does not constitute attendance and establishes guidelines for regular interaction.
- Provide faculty with quality professional development on utilizing the LMS.
- Ensure faculty provide regular feedback and assistance to students.
As an additional resource, the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) has published some helpful information for offering online instruction.
