Dr. Barry has a comprehensive record of achievement and success demonstrated by his military service, education, podiatric practice, and his lifelong commitment to community support and engagement.  He was a member of the USAF from 1978-1982 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant serving as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic.  He completed his undergraduate degree in 1986 at Southern Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry.  He earned his Doctorate at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine at the University of Chicago.  Over his 27 years of private practice, he had office locations in Bartow and Paulding Counties and was an active member of the surgical staffs at CMC and Wellstar Hospitals.  Barry was the first Georgia Podiatrist to complete all 3 areas of Board Certification and this accomplishment was recognized January 6th, 1998, in a Georgia House Resolution (823).  His community service spans decades and includes being a Cartersville Chamber of Commerce BOD member, completing Leadership Bartow Class of 1994, voted the Cartersville Chamber of Commerce Small Businessperson of the year 1995, founding member of the Booth Western Art Museum, Legacy Member of the Savoy Automobile Museum, past VP of the Etowah Valley Historical Society, past President of the United Way of Bartow County, past President of the Bartow Chapter of the American Diabetes Association, and member of the Carl Boyd American Legion Post 42.  Currently, Barry is a rotary member and founding advisor of the Rotaract Club of GHC.   He has completed 30 marathons (26.2 Miles) including qualifying for and completing the 2004 Boston Marathon. In addition, he currently is a Georgia Highlands College Foundation Trustee and Inaugural Chairman of the Cherokee Judicial Circuit Mental Health Court Community Council.  Barry is committed to service above self. Barry and his wife Anna have one son and reside in Cartersville, GA.
