Staff Changes

Ms. Linda Exley retired on May 1, 2018 after 10 years of service to the Commission.

GNPEC is pleased to introduce Ms. Tara Gill and Mr. Michael Kaiser as the newly hired Standards Administrators. If not already, you may be notified soon that your Standards Administrator has changed.

Tara Gill comes to us from Stanford University’s Haas Center for Public Service. Tara graduated from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) and University of Maryland Baltimore County and holds a Master of Public Policy. Tara brings over ten years of cross-sector experience in the higher education, nonprofit and public sectors, which will be an asset working with a diverse set of institutes and programs in her new role as a Standards Administrator.  She has undergone the training process for a Standards Administrator and is moving full-speed ahead in shadowing site visit appointments with her colleagues. Tara is excited to be a part of the GNPEC team and is eager to work with her assigned institutions on the authorization process.

Michael Kaiser holds a Master of Arts in History from Emory University and comes to us after working as a teacher and curriculum developer in New Orleans, New York City, and Atlanta. The skills and experiences he developed in the world of secondary education will inform his work as a Standards Administrator for GNPEC. Mike is currently training and looking forward to beginning the review of authorized and applicant institutions.

Upcoming Commission Meeting

The next Commission Meeting will be held on Monday, July 23, at 12:30pm at GNPEC.

Upcoming Edvera/Authorization Meeting

GNPEC is hosting another training session for those interested in learning more about how to use the Edvera system. GNPEC staff members will provide an overview of the EDvera system, demonstrate the features that GNPEC finds most important, and open the floor to questions from institutions.  This session is NOT mandatory; rather, it is being provided to help users who want to learn and become more proficient with the system’s functions.

The training session will be held via webinar (online) on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 PM. More details regarding access to the webinar platform will be made available closer to the session date. If you would like to participate, please RSVP by Friday, August 10, 2018 by sending an email to Adam Hawk at [email protected]. Please include your name, the name of your institution, the names and email addresses of the school representatives who wish to participate, and any particular topics you would like to hear discussed at the training.

Prepopulated Change Documents

Any “Change” document, Program, Personnel and Agent, whose original version of the document was submitted after November of 2017 will be prepopulated with the original document’s content.  This means that you will not have to fill out all the fields; rather, you simply need to change the affected information.  However, the “Change” form will not be prepopulated if its original document was submitted prior to November 2017; at which point, all fields need to be completed.

Please be reminded that the Student Outcome Data for unaccredited institutions for the August 1, 2017- July 31, 2018 reporting period is due to your Standards Administrator no later than September 1, 2018.  The template and instructions can be found on our website: https://gnpec.georgia.gov/documents/additional-requirements-unaccredited-institutions
